The food laboratory is open to culinary professionals that want to experiment with indigenous cooking methods using local resources and sharing food to customers in a restaurant setting. Open part of the year to the public the other time is spent allowing culinary professionals to experiment, test-out and create recipes working alongside a group of conscientious farmers from the Mid-Atlantic region.
Salt Eaters is an homage to traditional preservation and fermentation techniques. Neighborhood residents and collaborators are able to use our facilities to can, preserve and ferment foods on-site and store in a shared facility. We aim to provide food that is alive and nutrient dense. Fuel.
This project is in the pre-development stage. We are looking to collaborate with culinary professionals and farmers who are interested in participation. We are also open to ideas to make this project come to life in a way that is beneficial and mutually beneficial for participants and community members . We strive for longevity in the current economy.
